What is Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D printing?

When developing the technology, HP considered the disadvantages of the techniques used so far and thus introduced a real innovation in the 3D printing industry. The main advantages of the Multi Jet Fusion technology are above-average precision and efficiency, as well as excellent repeatability and flexibility of the 3D printing process.

The MJF manufacturing process consists in bonding plastic powders layer by layer using printing heads and a movable hotend. The operation is repeated until an element is made. Due to their uniform internal structure, the manufactured objects are durable and highly resistant to mechanical damage.

Materials used in MJF

During the several years of the technology’s existence on the market, the selection of available production materials has significantly increased, and new building materials are being developed. The most commonly used building materials in the MJF additive technology are PA 11 and PA 12 polyamides and TPU elastomers.
